APPLYING
Before you begin filling out our application, please take a second to review some expectations of our incoming members:

CELEB STATUS
We understand that the definition of 'celebrity' has become more fluid, however please be aware that we do want potential members to be relevant and to fit in with the current celebrity landscape and as such, we generally expect your celeb to have a Wikipedia page and/or name recognition. The mod team reserves the right to evaluate applications on a case-by-case basis.

JOURNALS
Your username should be a reflection of your celebrity's name and should not contain numbers, underscores, or additional letters. We expect that the effort you put into your journal and application reflects the effort you will put into the community. Aesthetics matter! If you don't know how to crop icons or locate journal layouts, let us know and we'll provide you with resources.

EXAMPLES AND FUTURE DATED POSTS
We require at least one entry example and one scene example when applying. Please post these in a filtered journal post and ensure you add ~item so that your examples are visible to the mod team. You will be required to post a current friends only as well as an out of character contact. Please ensure that the month and date reflect your application date to avoid removal. The year may be changed to adjust placement in your journal. If you're not sure how to do so, please check out this easy reference.

CHALLENGES
We will allow a maximum of one challenge per celebrity. Acceptance will be based on a determination of which writer will better suit the current culture of the community.

REJECTIONS
If you find your application was deleted, your character was not accepted as we did not feel you would be a good fit for the community at this time. We will not answer questions about rejections from applicants or current members.
ACTIVITY EXPECTATIONS
Upon acceptance, post an introduction in ~mix and reply to 50% of all comments. Failure to do so within 5 days of your acceptance will result in removal.

Please review the below for our expectations for you to maintain your role in the community once you have joined:

UPDATES
You are required to update your journal every three weeks. Every other entry must be a substantial or an interactive update and should show effort. Substantial updates can include narratives or traditional updates. Interactive updates can include social media posts or posts where other members can interact with each other. Placeholders are not considered substantial or interactive unless you have acquired an update pass per our point system, or you are completing an active update challenge. You can't use update passes in lieu of an effort post back to back. You are allowed to disable comments on narratives and placeholders only. We will host update challenges and community activities on a variable schedule. We expect members to reply to at least 50% of their comments on a regular basis. Consistent failure to reply to comments could result in removal.

WIRE & PLATO
We understand commitments waver and schedules vary, but maintaining your presence within the community means being visibly present. This includes being active and interacting on the friends page. While messaging and games apps are convenient, the friends page is where people are sharing their writing. This also means your friends list must be updated every two weeks at a minimum. A good rule of thumb is making a habit of updating your friends list every time you log in after an adds cycle.

OVERRIDES
Members may be eligible for override at the time of adds if any of the below applies. Prior to attempting to override, please confirm the member is not currently listed on our extension or hiatus list.
⊹ they did not post their introduction or reply to 50% of their comments within five days.
⊹ their journal is marked at more than three weeks, or their last visible entry exceeds three weeks.
⊹ their friends list is outdated by two weeks or more.
Please note that the mod team takes multiple factors into consideration when reviewing an override request, including the activity level of the current member across the whole of the community.

Do not reach out to our current members to inquire about their status in the commmunity. If you would like to confirm if someone is eligible for override, please comment our contact post. If we find out that you have contacted a member directly, your override attempt will be rejected.

INACTIVITY
Members who are removed for inactivity for the second time in a row are unable to reapply as the same role they were removed from for a period of three weeks to prevent members from role-hogging and provide others with the chance to participate.
EXTRA! EXTRA!
As a reminder, the moderator team is here to support you. If there is anything you need assistance with, don't hesitate to reach out.

HIATUS & EXTENSION REQUESTS
We pride ourselves on being very flexible to accomodate our members' needs. If you find your time more limited or something comes up, do not hesitate to reach out via our members post to request a hiatus or extension. Extensions are granted a minimum of one week. We don't have any limits in place for either hiatus requests or extensions but if we find you are abusing these requests, we do reserve the right to deny you. As a reminder, we expect members on hiatus to be taking time away from their roles to take care of themselves and, as such, members on hiatus should not be participating in group chats, community activities, games or other active forms of in-character engagement. If we find that a member is active while on hiatus, we may issue a warning at the mod team's discretion. Continued disregard for this rule could result in removal.

CONCERNS
We expect our members to be respectful of one another. In a group of writers, we understand that certain members may not connect and there is a chance in-character conflict may happen. We are committed to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment and encourage members to reach out if they feel they cannot resolve a conflict themselves for any reason. If there is IC/OOC line blurring, members are IP logging and disrespecting another writer's privacy in any way, or someone is being purposely excluded from group activities, please let us know. Additionally, we have zero tolerance for the following: hate, racism, bigotry, or plagiarism. Be kind, it's not hard. We also ask our members be mindful and respectful of their writing in regards to real life tragedies and losses, use your judgement, use trigger warnings when appropriate, and if you're unsure, ask us!
